Who is behind FormulatedFitness.com?

I can’t say that I began life with a passion for health and fitness. Instead, I struggled with eating disorders while my weight fluctuated for many years.

I didn’t understand what healthy living looked like. I confused well-being with being thin. I only cared about what the scale said – and how I looked in my clothes. Basically, I was a walking reaction to my emotional baggage and it played itself out in my weight issues.

Fast forward many years and I took a risk. I accepted a job in a small women’s gym only to discover that even though I had some basic knowledge of how to exercise, I wasn’t in a position to dispense any real advice. It was then that I decided to enroll in Fitness Institute International, Inc. school for fitness and earned my Certified Personal Training Specialist (CPTS) certificate.

As someone who had always had a passion for creative writing, the school’s challenging and rewarding curriculum inspired me to begin writing articles that eventually led to being published. Writing a book was the next natural step.

My education at Fitness Institute included discussions that highlighted examples of unnecessary injury and death that could be avoided if the public were informed about how to make deliberate and educated decisions in regard to their health and fitness activities.

So I wrote my first book – “A Simple Guide to Exercise Safety (What You Don’t Know CAN Hurt You)” in an effort to help educate the public about how to stay safe in a lifestyle designed to bring well-being.

I have discovered that the body follows the guidance of the mind and spirit – and my message contains the concept of as within, so without.

I’ve been involved in the health and fitness industry for over 18 years ever since I was first introduced to a gym as a teenager.

Over the years I have learnt what does (and what doesn’t) work and I’m here to tell you that getting fit and healthy is simple once you strip away all a lot of the B.S. and complicated advice you see elsewhere online.

With the proper diet, training and motivation, you can improve your physical performance and get in the best shape of your life.

Building a Fitness Community

One of the big problems with most fitness sites is that they give you some tips on how to lose weight or build muscle but then leave you to fend for yourself.

One of my goals is to turn FormulatedFitness.com into a true fitness community where people just like you can come and join the conversation, share ideas and together help each other on your health and fitness goals whether it be sculpting six pack abs or just losing some extra weight and feeling great.
