Although you might think there is nothing you can do to alter your metabolism, there are some powerful secrets to help you speed up your metabolism and blast fat away from your midsection!

The Secrets To Begin Increasing Your Metabolism Naturally

One of my favorite secrets to metabolism boosting is the power of drinking green tea.  Green Tea has been an amazing beverage for me. Ever since swapping out my horrible coffee habit for Green Tea I have felt like my metabolism has increased, and I feel more energetic and alert all day.

Green Tea is high in antioxidants, helps your body ward off diseases, and can help sculpt your lean and sexy physique by boosting your metabolism. In a recent study people who drank Green Tea multiple times a day lost up to 5 lbs. of fat in a year.

You really can’t go wrong with Green Tea between its powerful antioxidants and metabolism boosting powers.

Your Eating Habits and Metabolism Is Closely Linked

One thing that I will swear by is eating small, protein laden meals throughout the day. I have found that for boosting my metabolism eating small, frequent meals throughout the day is so much better than having 2 or 3 gigantic meals.

For one, I never feel stuffed and feel the urge to sit and vegetate for an hour straight after a meal. You don’t need to treat lunch and dinner like it is a Thanksgiving Feast.

One thing that has worked for me is to eat about 5-6 meals throughout the day at around 400-500 calories a piece. Having said that I am a natural ectomorph so I need to eat a lot of calories in a day.

NEVER go long periods of time without food. It is much better to snack on small healthy meals throughout the day and stay active than starve yourself and eat a gigantic, calorie laden meal.

From my experience, the best Metabolism boosting workout has been a combination of Strength and Interval Training. Doing interval training is more fun than standard cardio.

It incorporates short bursts of explosion and energy which can be great catalysts to speed up your metabolism and burn calories! Anything from doing sprints, jumping exercises, jumping rope, and any kind of high intensity interval training is fantastic!

Breakfast Is Vital To Metabolism Success

One metabolism boosting rule you MUST live by is to NEVER SKIP BREAKFAST!

They really weren’t kidding when they said that breakfast is the most important part of your day. Even if you are short on time you can get a perfect metabolism boost with just a blender and a few simple ingredients.

My favorite metabolism boosting breakfast consists of putting in a blender:

  • 1 Cup of Almond Milk
  • 2 tbsp Non Fat Yogurt
  • Vanilla Whey Protein Powder
  • 1 Banana
  • 2 tbsp Peanut Butter

It is a delicious shake, and keeps me full and energized until early afternoon. If you are short on time I highly suggest making your own fruit smoothies as meal replacements. Fruit is a great way to give you energy and speed up your metabolism.

One factor that is so often overlooked in boosting your metabolism is to constantly STAY HYDRATED! I really cannot stress it enough. If your body is dehydrated, it can in fact slow down your metabolism as well as limit your workouts.

I have found that I have my best workouts when I am most hydrated, and it is also a great way to ensure that you are speeding up your metabolism.

Just remember sometimes the best advice is the simplest!

They don’t make money by telling you that one of the best metabolism boosting secrets is simply staying hydrated and drinking enough water because then you wouldn’t buy there overpriced and worthless metabolism boosting pills!

Organic Is Always Better

One of the best tips for boosting your metabolism involves not only going GREEN but going ORGANIC!

I’m sure you have heard all sorts of hoopla regarding organic food and its health benefits to you. No only that but it just feels right to be eating organically.

So why does organic matter when boosting your metabolism?

Reducing the amount of pesticides you ingest will help you greatly to maintain and increase your metabolism. All of the pesticides found in non-organic foods will slow your metabolism down, and cause you to feel sluggish.

      Diets aren’t easy – nor are they very pleasant. In fact, no one likes them!
      The idea is to live a life based on well-being – and make choices that are aligned with optimal health.
      If you follow the tips in the article with a feeling that is more like…
      “I love to partake in activities that will make me healthy and happy” – as opposed to feeling like whatever you’re doing is a chore designed to produce an outcome that you can’t seem to accomplish – the overall energy behind what you’re doing changes – and becomes more joyful.
      This is when things ‘work’. 😉

    Thanks for the advice. I had a question. I am on herbalife and my nutrition counselor has this machine to check everything. She says i need to drink a gallon every day. And i do more or less. But the machine still says i am too low on water intake. Can you help me understand? Your blogs have really helped me thanks

      I’m so glad the blogs are helping you.
      Do you eat a lot of salt? Do you perspire frequently? Would there be any other reasons that could be causing you to be dehydrated?
      A gallon of water per day (even more or less) is a substantial amount of water to drink.
      Fruits and vegetables are also highly concentrated with water, so if you consume plenty of these, in addition to your water intake, then I would imagine there has to be some other reason for the reading you are getting.
      The most responsible thing I could suggest is for you to get it checked out by a medical professional or a well-qualified registered dietitian.

      How do you feel otherwise? Do experience any symptoms of dehydration (such as dry mouth/skin, dizziness, headaches or increased thirst)? Do you have any other medical conditions that could be contributing to your reading?
